Based in Tasmania, Huon Aquaculture is Australia’s second largest producer of Atlantic Salmon (in excess of 38,000 tonnes) and also farms and processes Rainbow Trout.

Huon supplies fresh fish and a range of value-added products to wholesale and retail outlets across Australia.  It also exports to a number of overseas markets, predominantly into the Asia-Pacific region.  As a fully vertically integrated business, Huon Aquaculture’s operations encompass all elements of the production chain including selective breeding, to transfer to freshwater hatcheries, to grow-out in marine farms, through to processing and value-adding, sales, marketing and distribution. 

Huon Aquaculture has been a leader in the Tasmanian marine farming industry, with a focus on sustainable, high-quality products and innovative, world-leading aquaculture practices, which is why it is the only seafood producer in Australia to be certified under the RSPCA Approved Farming Scheme.

Huon Aquaculture facilities include hatcheries and marine farms across Tasmania, and processing centres in Tasmania, New South Wales and Western Australia.
