Harvest Supervisor

About the Role

The JBS Riverina Plant is currently recruiting a full-time Harvest Supervisor (Kill Floor) to join our processing team. Reporting directly to the Harvest Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing slaughter floor operations to ensure the production of high-quality products that meet customer expectations and all relevant regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in fostering a culture focused on food safety, product quality, workplace safety, teamwork and pride in workmanship.

In this hands-on leadership role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient day-to-day operation of the kill floor, maintaining compliance with customer specifications, export market requirements and regulatory standards. You will provide guidance and support to your team to ensure production and quality objectives are consistently achieved, while promoting a strong culture of food safety, animal welfare and continuous improvement. Working closely with internal stakeholders and regulatory personnel, you will help maintain the integrity of the FSQA system, support employee training and development and ensure safe work practices are embedded across all activities. As a people leader, you will also be responsible for fostering a positive team environment, managing workforce requirements and ensuring employees are supported and led in accordance with company values and expectations.

About You

• Previous experience in the meat industry essential
• Previous experience in a similar leadership position highly regarded
• Excellent communication, delegation and interpersonal skills
• Demonstratable problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety, and quality assurance
• Demonstrated computer literacy skills, specifically within Excel, Word and Outlook
• Ability to respond calmly in difficult situations whilst maintaining a strong customer service focus
• Exceptional ability to prioritise and multi-task
• High attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment

JBS Australia is the largest and most respected meat and food producer in Australia. Situated on 2,000ha, the JBS Riverina Plant is a part of the Riverina integrated farming, feedlot and processing operation. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality – one of only two in the southern hemisphere. Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), our location ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The plant employs approximately 500 team members with a processing capacity of 600 head of cattle per day.
