FEEDYARD MAINTENANCE HAND
JBS Australia’s Northern Division operates five strategically placed processing facilities as well as five feedlots across Queensland and New South Wales, with access to an extensive network of quality cattle. Our network provides the ability to meet the specific demands of various market segments with an extensive range of grain-fed and pasture-fed products.
This role would suit someone who has previous experience doing station work – core responsibilities being welding, water supply and livestock containment.

The JBS Beef City Feedlot is part of the integrated Beef City facility consisting of farming, feedlot and processing operations. Ideally located in the prime grain and cattle producing region of the Darling Downs, 35km west of Toowoomba, the 26,500 head capacity feedlot has a strong reputation for producing high quality grain fed beef for key domestic and international customers, and employs approximately 50 team members.

About the Role
A rare and exciting opportunity exists for a multi-skilled person to join the Maintenance Team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor this position is required to work as part of a small team and carry out a variety of maintenance tasks as directed.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Carry out general maintenance tasks and fault finding as required;
- Erect steel yard fencing – setting fence posts in concrete, welding, running fencing cables;
- Repair and maintain steel yard fencing;
- Repair and maintain plumbing and pumping systems;
- Carry out basic concrete works and repairs;
- Liaise and work with contractors when required;
- Comply with company Policies and Procedures;
- Work safely to prevent injuries and lost time;
- Additional tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor or Feedlot Manager.
About You
- A minimum of 2 years experience working in a maintenance or a similar role;
- Proven experience in yard building;
- Proven experience in plumbing and pump repairs;
- Proven experience in laying concrete;;
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills;
- Sound understanding and knowledge of safe work practices;
- Previous plant and machinery operation experience advantageous but not essential;
- A rural background and understanding of livestock is desirable.
