Ideally located in the prime grain and cattle producing region of the Darling Downs, 35km west of Toowoomba, the 26,500 head capacity feedlot has a strong reputation for producing high quality grain fed beef for key domestic and international customers, and employs approximately 50 team members.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity for a skilled fulltime motivated Boiler Maker currently exists at our Beef City Feedlot.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor the position forms part of a small team that is responsible for the fabrication, repairs and maintenance of the feedlot and farm infrastructure and plant.

Your key responsibilities include:-

• Read and interpret drawings;
• Fabrication, installation and repairs to machinery and infrastructure to a high standard;
• Cutting, shaping and joining metal components using welding, brazing and other metal working techniques;
• Ensure finished products meet specifications;
• Collaborating with the supervisor to optimize workflows and troubleshoot issues
• Maintaining a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all health and safety requirements.

About You

• Relevant Trade qualification in boiler making / welding
• Demonstrated proficiency in welding techniques such as MIG, TIG and stick welding;
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications;
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve issues;
• Attention to detail and commitment to deliver high quality work.
• Good communication and team work skills
• Ability to work safely and adhere to all relevant health and safety requirements.
