Employing approximately 35 team members, Prime City Feedlot has a strong reputation for producing premium quality grain-fed beef. The 6,225 ha of dryland and irrigation farm onsite at Prime City supplies the grain, silage and hay required for the cattle in the feedlot.

About the Role

The JBS Prime City Feedlot is currently recruiting a passionate Induction Hand to join our experienced Livestock team.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and completing all necessary activities to induct new cattle into the feedlot, including weighing, administering animal treatments and conducting animal breed/type assessments
  • Completing paperwork and documentation associated with entry cattle
  • Cleaning the feedlot receival holding pens
  • Assisting the broader team with livestock handling across the feedlot
  • Maintaining compliance with JBS Australia policies, including but not limited to: WHS, HR, QA, Animal Welfare & Environmental obligations

 

About You

  • Communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong commitment to animal welfare, health & nutrition
  • Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and within a team environment
  • Previous cattle handling skills would be favourable, however not essential as on-the-job training is provided
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
