The JBS Dinmore Processing Plant is the largest beef facility in the southern hemisphere. Located near Ipswich, in south east Queensland, the facility has a daily production ability of 3,400 cattle and employs approximately 2,500 people. Cattle are sourced from the finest cattle producing regions to produce a diverse range of pasture fed and grain beef products, from commodity to premium. The renowned AMH brand, the award-winning Yardstick, the highly marbled grain fed Pure Prime and our state’s brand, Queenslander Beef and more are all produced at Dinmore.

 

About the Role

We are excited to launch an extensive search for an outstanding Head of People & Culture to lead and support our Dinmore Plant, our largest and most significant facility within JBS Australia. This role partners with site leadership to deliver people strategies that drive engagement, capability, and performance, while ensuring compliance with industrial relations and workplace health and safety standards.

 

Responsible for workforce planning, talent development, cultural initiatives, training, payroll, and rehabilitation and return to work, this position plays a critical role in fostering a safe, inclusive and high-performing environment that supports both business objectives and employee experience.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Drive the implementation of people and culture strategies aligned with business objectives for the Dinmore site
  • Oversee recruitment, retention, succession planning, and capability development for a large, diverse workforce
  • Oversee the training department to ensure effective development of the Dinmore workforce
  • Lead initiatives to build a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture
  • Partner with site leaders to enhance leadership capability, manage performance, and support change
  • Ensure compliance with workplace legislation, enterprise agreements, and company policies; manage employee relations matters effectively
  • Champion safety and wellbeing programs to maintain a safe and supportive work environment
  • Oversee injury management including workers compensation claims, and rehabilitation and return to work
  • Drive cultural and operational change initiatives to support business transformation and efficiency
  • Oversee HR processes, systems, and reporting to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and data-driven decision-making

 

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline
  • Extensive experience in HR operations, HR compliance or a related HR function
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations and labour management, employee lifecycle processes and HR best practices
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to provide guidance to HR teams and support senior management
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in processing, compliance, and employee data management
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills including identifying and resolving HR operational challenges
