Time and Attendance Officer

About the Role

JBS Townsville is currently seeking a Time & Attendance Officer to join the HR team in a newly rescoped position. Reporting to the Site HR Manager, this role is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely processing of employee time and attendance (T&A) information across the site.

Working closely with employees, managers and the wider HR team, you will use Kronos to review employee schedules, start and finish times, leave requests and incomplete transactions, ensuring information is processed accurately and within required payroll deadlines. You will also respond to employee queries, assist managers with T&A processes, provide Kronos training and support, maintain employee records and entitlements, and escalate payroll or attendance issues where required.

This is a detail-focused role where accuracy, confidentiality and the ability to work to strict deadlines are essential. You will also need to interpret and apply relevant Awards and Enterprise Agreements to help ensure employee entitlements and attendance information are processed correctly.

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, accurate and comfortable working with detailed information. You will ideally bring:

• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to deadlines
• Experience maintaining records, files and databases
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to assist employees and managers with queries
• Sound computer skills and the ability to learn new systems
• Ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion and confidentiality
• Previous experience with SAP and/or Kronos is preferred but not essential
• Experience working with payroll, time and attendance, HR admin or interpreting Awards and Enterprise Agreements would be highly regarded
