Cattle are sourced from a wide supply area, including the Northern Territory, north and north-western Queensland and packed into the AMH brand, the most trusted name in beef. The plant employs approximately 500 team members with a processing capacity of 900 head of cattle per day, operating 5 days per week.

 

About the Role

The JBS Townsville Plant is currently recruiting an experienced Optimisation Assistant to join the team in a full-time capacity. The Townsville Plant is a fast-moving, high-volume food manufacturing facility where short and long-term plant availability, reliability and capability is a priority.

 

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, you will be directly responsible for helping departments find more efficient business practices. You will work with key stakeholders in each department to determine priorities, review performance and make optimisation recommendations based on opportunities.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with Production Control & Planning (PCP) to maximise yield analytics and improvements
  • Evaluating existing workflows, structures and systems
  • Understanding best practices for digital assets such as websites and apps
  • Analysing complex problems and finding data-based solutions
  • Collaborating with employees and stakeholders to improve processes and outcomes
  • Auditing and monitoring digital channels using data analytics tools
  • Determining strategic optimisation goals with senior management
  • Preparing proposals and presenting recommendation to stakeholders
  • Discussing shortcomings and opportunities for optimisation with stakeholders
  • Data-driven decision making

 

About You

  • Demonstrated experience within a similar manufacturing process improvement/optimisation role
  • Tertiary qualifications within Engineering, Business Management or related discipline
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to collaborate across levels of the business
  • Capable of influencing senior leaders to make the best long-term decisions
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management
  • Effective decision-making skills
