Located 12km south of Townsville, a major gateway to Queensland’s world-renowned Great Barrier Reef, the JBS Townsville Plant is JBS Australia’s most northern operation. Cattle are sourced from a wide supply area, including the Northern Territory, north and north-western Queensland and packed into the AMH brand, the most trusted name in beef. The plant employs approximately 430 team members with a processing capacity of 900 head of cattle per day, operating 4 days per week.

 

About the Role

JBS Townsville is currently recruiting an experienced IT Officer to join the team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Assistant Plant Manager, the IT Officer will play a crucial role in the successful operation of the plant. To be successful in this role, you must have a strong knowledge of PC’s and Windows Systems and a technical background in computing and/or electronics. 

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing preventative and scheduled maintenance on plant IT assets
  • Installation and configuration of new equipment such as computer desktops and industrial printers
  • Installation and configuration of software across a range of platforms
  • Monitoring, responding and diagnosing all facets of daily IT issues through the plant
  • Troubleshooting and resolving user issues as they occur
  • Escalating issues to the broader IT support team whilst maintaining responsibility for close out
  • Developing effective relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Undertaking various reporting and data tracking

 

About You

  • Ability to work professionally and effectively within a team environment as well as the ability to work unsupervised
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills - with the ability to explain technical issues to a non-technical user base
  • Highly developed time management skills including prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to work effectively in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • High standard of computer literacy
  • Previous experience working with varied IT hardware, Software and Operating Systems
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem solving and diagnostic skills
  • Previous experience in a factory or process setting advantageous
