The plant employs approximately 430 team members with a processing capacity of 900 head of cattle per day, operating 4 days per week.

 

About the Role

JBS Townsville is currently recruiting a experienced Food Safety and Quality Assurance Officer (FSQA) Officer to join the team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the QA Manager, the FSQA Officer will play an integral role in monitoring, reporting, and rectifying issues within product, hygiene and food safety throughout the Plant and ensuring the production of a quality product.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring food safety and quality of products
  • Interacting with management, production and supervisory personnel to achieve the desired quality levels
  • Checking product against specifications and food safety standards
  • Interacting/liaising with AQIS and other regulatory bodies when and where necessary so that all established guidelines are met
  • Participating in internal and external audits
  • Monitoring total hygiene practices in amenities, production areas, and render department on a daily basis

 

About You

  • Previous experience in a similar FSQA or QA role within the meat industry advantageous
  • Successful completion of the required AUS-Meat levels of competency and any other qualifications required by statutory authorities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic supervisory skills
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety
  • Demonstrated computer literacy specifically within Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Exceptional ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
