About the Role

JBS Townsville is currently seeking a Fabrication Lead to join our Townsville Plant on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Fabrication Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role in the day-to-day coordination and performance of the Boning Room operations. Working closely with your team, you will provide guidance, support and direction to ensure production, quality, food safety and workplace health and safety objectives are consistently achieved.

 

This hands-on leadership position is responsible for leading, motivating and developing team members through effective communication, training and performance support, while fostering a positive and engaged workplace culture. You will oversee the daily operations of the Boning Room, ensuring compliance with all WHS, environmental, quality assurance and MSQA requirements, while maintaining a strong focus on operational efficiency, cost control and revenue optimisation.

 

As the successful candidate, you will ensure HR policies and procedures are consistently applied, maintain accurate production and operational records, and contribute to workplace improvement initiatives and projects. Above all, you will lead by example and embody the JBS Values in all aspects of your work, helping to create a safe, productive and high-performing team environment.

 

About You

  • Previous experience in the meat industry essential
  • Previous experience in a similar leadership position highly regarded
  • Excellent communication, delegation and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstratable problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety, and quality assurance
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills, specifically within Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to respond calmly in difficult situations whilst maintaining a strong customer service focus
  • Exceptional ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
