Catering Assistant
About the Role
The JBS Townsville Kitchen team are currently recruiting several new full-time Catering Assistants to support our busy cafeteria team. Reporting to the Catering Manager, our Catering Assistants deliver exceptional hospitality and customer service to our 400+ strong workforce, serving hundreds of delicious meals across 4 operational days per week.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the preparation, delivery, presentation and serving of meals
- Receival and storage of stock
- Cleaning the food preparation areas, cooking equipment and utensils
- Ensuring the dining room is clean, tidy and presentable at all times
- Assisting with preparation for special events including morning teas, fundraising events, guest visitors and senior/executive meetings
About You
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment advantageous
- Excellent customer service skills and a desire to always go above and beyond
- Ability and willingness to take direction from others
- Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
- Ability to work across a variety of shifts including late nights and early mornings. No weekend work!
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Great time management skills and the ability to work effectively well under pressure
