Cattle are sourced from a wide supply area including the Northern Territory, north and north-western Queensland and packed into the AMH brand, the most trusted name in beef. The facility employs approximately 430 employees and processes approximately 900 head per day, operating 4 days/week. 

About the Role

Our Townsville Plant is currently searching for a passionate and hard-working Apprentice Fitter to join our high performing Maintenance team. This is a unique opportunity to join a global organisation with a local community feel. 

We are open to considering apprentices at any stage of their Apprenticeship.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Participating in and completing the necessary on and off the job training in order to become a fully qualified fitter
• Following safe work practices and procedures
• Working with and under the supervision of tradespeople
• Following all instructions from tradespeople and supervisors
• Attending TAFE as required

About You

• Currently undertaking a Fitter and Turner Apprenticeship
• Strong technical aptitude
• Good communication skills
• Strong rganisational and time management skills
• Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
• Ability to work a range of shifts as required
• Willing to undergo Q Fever Vaccination, or have completed Q Fever Vaccination
