Located 35km west of Toowoomba, the JBS Beef City Plant is part of the Beef City integrated feedlot, processing and farming facility. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality – one of only two in southern hemisphere. Specialising in grain-fed beef production, the plant employs approximately 850 employees with a current processing capacity of 1026 cattle per day and has a strong reputation for producing high quality grain fed beef for key domestic and international customers.
About the Role
Our Beef City Plant is currently recruiting a Return to Work (RTW) Coordinator to join our afternoon shift team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the HR Manager, this position will see you supporting processes involved with daily first aid treatment, injury prevention advice, WHS, rehabilitation and RTW activities aligned with site-based HR responsibilities. This role will best suit someone looking to further develop their health and safety experience in a large organisation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring compliance with the JBS Health and Safety Management System
- Participating in internal and external audits, ensuring the site maintains compliance and implements any necessary changes
- Promoting safety culture and awareness
- Providing workplace rehabilitation within the guidelines of the Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation Act
- Providing support to achieve business objectives within the area of injury management and rehabilitation
- Consulting and liaising with external medical providers, employees and all other stakeholders regarding injuries
- Communicating with the Workers Compensation Self Insurance department
About You
- Formal qualifications within WHS, RTW or related discipline advantageous
- Previous experience within a similar injury management role and/or working knowledge of workers compensation and rehabilitation advantageous
- Ability to work autonomously as well as being able to collaborate within a team environment
- Good computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Ability to adapt to different environments and situations
- Ability to work with a diverse range of employees including different cultural backgrounds
- Knowledge of manufacturing hazards ideally within a food manufacturing environment
- Experience in risk assessment, incident investigations and injuries
- Strong communication skills with an emphasis on excellent listening and interaction skills
- Good conflict resolution skills
- Strong attention to detail
