Ideally located in the prime grain and cattle producing region of the Darling Downs, 35km west of Toowoomba, the 26,500 head capacity feedlot has a strong reputation for producing high quality grain fed beef for key domestic and international customers, and employs approximately 50 team members.

About the Role

JBS Beef City is currently recruiting a Stockperson to join the Livestock team to assist with the care and movement of cattle from the Feedlot to the Processing Operations. We are seeking candidates with experienced stock horses for this role.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Daily livestock handling including moving cattle from receival pens to the plant holding pens
  • Washing of cattle prior to processing, if required
  • Following documentation and counting cattle, ensuring correct numbers of cattle in each movement
  • Maintaining accurate records of cattle movements
  • Ensuring water troughs are cleaned twice a week and that cattle have access to water at all times
  • Following procedures to ensure QA compliance requirements are met
  • Ensuring compliance with OH&S, Animal Welfare and Environmental regulations

 

About You

  • Must have a minimum of two suitable stock horses (Hendra Vaccinated)
  • Strong horseperson with sound livestock experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Methodical and efficient in regards to cattle movements and have good organisational skills
  • Display a willingness and ability to learn new skills
  • Committed to animal welfare
  • Ability to work a 10 hour day, 4 days a week on a rotational basis
  • Prepared to work additional hours if required based on workload
