Stockperson - Beef City Feedlot

About the Role

We currently have a vacancy within the Beef City Feedlot Livestock Team for an experienced Stockperson to assist with the care, handling and movement of cattle from the feedlot through to Processing Operations. This role requires an experienced stockperson with suitable stock horses.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Daily livestock handling, including moving cattle from receival pens to plant holding pens
  • Washing cattle prior to processing, where required
  • Accurately counting and documenting cattle movements to ensure correct numbers
  • Maintaining precise records of all livestock movements
  • Cleaning water troughs twice weekly and ensuring cattle have continuous access to fresh water
  • Following established procedures to meet Meat QA compliance requirements
  • Ensuring full compliance with Occupational Health & Safety, Animal Welfare, and Environmental regulations

 

About You

  • Minimum of two suitable, Hendra-vaccinated stock horses
  • Strong horse-handling skills with sound livestock experience
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Methodical, efficient, and detail-focused approach to cattle movements
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to follow procedures accurately
  • Demonstrated willingness and capacity to learn new skills
  • Genuine commitment to animal welfare
  • Ability to work 10-hour days, 4 days per week on a rotating roster
  • Flexibility to work additional hours as required to meet operational demands
