JBS Australia is the largest and most respected meat and food producer in Australia. We have a strong portfolio of leading and renowned beef, lamb, pork, salmon and value-added branded products, such as AMH, Swift, Primo, Murray Valley and Huon.
Located 35km west of Toowoomba, the JBS Beef City Plant is part of the Beef City integrated feedlot, processing and farming facility. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality – one of only two in southern hemisphere.
Specialising in grain-fed beef production, the plant employs approximately 850 employees with a current processing capacity of 945 cattle per day and has a strong reputation for producing high quality grain fed beef for key domestic and international customers.
About the Role
The Plant Manager in Development role presents an exciting opportunity to commence and/or further progress your leadership journey within JBS Australia. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position will work closely with the Plant Leadership team as well key functional areas such as QA and HR to accelerate and broaden your Management and Operational competency in preparation for a future appointment to a Plant Management or other leadership roles.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in maintaining control of plant operations including the achievement of site throughput targets whilst maintaining emphasis on food safety, product specifications, WH&S and employee relations
- Assisting with KPI benchmarking, to ensure consistent process and product recovery performance outcomes across all Plant operations
- Reviewing financial performance including capital expenditure planning and cost controls
- Undertaking projects and activities as directed by the GM Operations Northern
About You
- Demonstrated and successful experience in a leadership role within a large meat processing facility
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritise and multi skill
- High attention to detail
- High level of motivation, commitment and enthusiasm
- Makes self fully available when required at any of our Northern Plant locations (mobility is essential; approx. 3 monthly moves)
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, business practices, policies and procedures as they relate to a meat processing facility
