Located 35km west of Toowoomba, the JBS Beef City Plant is part of the Beef City integrated feedlot, processing and farming facility. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality – one of only two in southern hemisphere. Specialising in grain-fed beef production, the plant employs approximately 850 employees with a current processing capacity of 945 cattle per day and has a strong reputation for producing high quality grain fed beef for key domestic and international customers.

 

About the Role

To support our ongoing commitment to delivering an outstanding employee experience, our Beef City Plant is currently recruiting a passionate Onboarding Supervisor to join the HR team in a newly created position. The Onboarding Supervisor will support our HR and Operations teams in overseeing the orientation and onboarding of all new hires, as well as supervise a team of Onboarding Coordinators.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Administer, track and evaluate all new hire orientation and onboarding training
  • Supervise new hires during the training period and make recommendations to management and HR regarding training needs, concerns and continued employment
  • Coach Onboarding Coordinators to conduct structured on-the-job training for new and current employees
  • Motivate, coach, correct and challenges Onboarding Coordinators, Orientation Trainers and new hires with a positive approach
  • Ensure proper methods are followed for production and safety, and adapts training and performance improvement plans according to each employee’s skills and experience and the Company’s retention goals.
  • Maintain an engaged and team-oriented Onboarding Team by leading by example
  • Communicate issues or concerns with site management teams
  • Ensure all Onboarding Coordinators are training according to job skills assessments and SOPs and determine when new Team Members are ready for the next step in their employment
  • Answer questions and enquiries that require comprehensive knowledge of departmental procedures, operations, and HR programs
  • Manage the Onboarding Team schedule and assess staffing needs
  • Provide leadership through goal setting, delegation and communication
  • Drive Team Member retention by demonstrating and implementing Company values and policies, including monitoring and tracking all new hires’ performance and development during their initial 60 days of employment
  • Support new Team Members by maintaining a presence on the production floor, meeting all new Team Members on a daily basis to assess their skills development
  • Attend regular management and human resources meetings
  • Create, maintain and verify evaluation criteria for new hires
  • Regularly evaluate Team Members based on criteria for initial SOP certification or SOP re-certification
  • Record, document, maintain and analyse training progression files to compile reports for management teams

 

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar training position
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience, with the passion and ability to develop team members
  • Ability to present ideas, concepts, issues, concerns and questions in a well thought out, positive and professional manner
  • Ability to resolve conflicts using creative solutions
  • Ability to work professionally with people from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
  • Adept at giving and receiving feedback
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently; disciplined, confident and self-starter
  • Strong documentation skills
