The JBS Beef City Feedlot is part of the integrated Beef City facility consisting of farming, feedlot and processing operations. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress, carbon emissions and transportation costs while simultaneously improving eating quality. Ideally located in the prime grain and cattle producing region of the Darling Downs, 35km west of Toowoomba, the 26,500 head capacity feedlot has a strong reputation for producing high quality grain fed beef for key domestic and international customers, and employs approximately 50 team members.

About the Role

Our Beef City Feedlot team are currently recruiting an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join the team in a full-time role. Reporting to the Feedlot Manager, the position of Maintenance Supervisor is a key senior position within the Beef City Feedlot Team and offers an opportunity for the successful applicant to demonstrate their skills and abilities as a Leader within the Maintenance Team.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing maintenance at Beef City Feedlot and assisting the maintenance program at Mungindi Feedlot (as required)
  • Coordinating teams and workflow to ensure that operational priorities are identified and deadlines are met
  • Supervising the quality and work performance of the Feedlot Maintenance team and contractors
  • Ongoing development and oversight of scheduled and preventative maintenance programs
  • Purchasing and ordering of spare parts and materials as required for planned tasks
  • Operating within budget constraints
  • Inventory management including auditing, stocktaking and cost control
  • Staff management, development and training in a positive and proactive manner
  • Monitoring and ensuring team compliance with JBS Australia policies, including WHS, HR, QA, Animal Welfare and Environmental obligations

  • General understanding of trucks, front end loaders, commodity handling equipment as well as general machinery and equipment
  • Experience with electronic maintenance management systems (SAP desirable)
