The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality – one of only two in southern hemisphere. Specialising in grain-fed beef production, the plant employs approximately 850 employees with a current processing capacity of 945 cattle per day and has a strong reputation for producing high quality grain fed beef for key domestic and international customers.

About the Role

Our high-volume Beef City Plant is currently seeking experienced Electrician’s to join our busy Maintenance Team. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, we are offering full-time positions, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with optional overtime available on Saturdays (we have both day shift and afternoon shift options available). Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring maximum equipment uptime is achieved by providing effective and efficient mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance
  • Ensuring that all work is carried out to the Company and requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations
  • Utilising fault-finding to troubleshoot and rectify problems

 

About You

  • Current New Zealand citizenship, residency or working visa
  • Current New Zealand practicing electrical license
  • Previous experience within the meat industry advantageous, but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated approach to continuous improvement
  • Ability to support a broad variety of mechanical work
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to work various shifts as required by the business
