About the Role

The Northern Ops Feedlot team is currently seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to join our team in a full-time capacity. In this newly created position, you will provide vital advice on all Feedlot related health and safety matters in line with business needs, legislation and JBS Australia policies and procedures. You will work with sites to check and monitor compliance with legal obligations, JBS WHS Systems and industry best practice, as well as assist with the implementation of JBS training requirements.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining the WHS Systems audit schedule for the Northern Feedlots
  • Participating in and assisting with WHS audits (internal and external)
  • Assisting with the monitoring and closing out of corrective actions
  • Collaborating with site teams to conduct inspections and injury investigations
  • Providing support and assistance as required to site H&S team members
  • Working with sites to ensure emergency response plans are in place, scenarios are tested and any findings are captured and acted upon
  • Providing support to sites in the review, maintenance and implementation of H&S and role specific training needs
  • Engaging site teams in risk assessments
  • Carrying out functions as directed by the Feedlots Livestock Manager and/or Safety Manager for Northern Operations

 

About You

  • Degree/Diploma qualified in WHS or related field
  • Experience in basic WHS function (i.e. incident investigations and risk assessments)
  • Demonstrated computer literacy in Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to respond calmly in difficult situations whilst maintaining a strong customer service focus
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
  • Takes other's perspective's into consideration
  • Energetic, passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on system improvement
  • Ability to travel to sites across QLD and NSW
