Feed Hand - Beef City Feedlot

The JBS Beef City Feedlot is part of the integrated Beef City facility consisting of farming, feedlot and processing operations. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality. 

Ideally located in the prime grain and cattle producing region of the Darling Downs, 35km west of Toowoomba, the 26,500 head capacity feedlot has a strong reputation for producing high quality grain fed beef for key domestic and international customers, and employs approximately 50 team members. 

About the Role
The JBS Beef City Feedlot is currently seeking to recruit a feed hand to assist with the day to day operations of the Milling and Feeding team.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Undertake pre-start inspections of all machinery prior to operation;
• Report any mechanical faults to supervisor:
• Operation of Loaders and tractors to clean pens, load trucks and associated tasks of a feedlot environment;
• Operate feed trucks to roll out feeding schedule assigned;
• General laboring type duties;
• Promote and maintain a safe work environment to prevent injuries and lost time;
• Additional tasks as directed by the Mill Foreperson/ Supervisor and/or Feedlot Manager.

About You

• Experience in operating trucks, front end loaders, bobcats, tractors and associated equipment preferred;
• HR Licence and machinery tickets an advantage but not essential;
• Ability to work machinery in tight working environments;
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
• Must have a good work ethic and be able to take and follow instruction.
