About the Role

JBS Beef City is seeking a motivated and capable FSQA Manager in Development to join our Food Safety & Quality Assurance team in a permanent full-time capacity. Reporting directly to the Site FSQA Manager, this position has been established as part of Beef City's succession planning strategy and provides a structured pathway for the successful candidate to develop into a future Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager role.

 

Working closely with the FSQA leadership team, you will gain hands-on experience across all aspects of food safety, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, quality systems management, customer requirements, audit management and team leadership within a large export beef processing facility.

 

This role is ideal for an experienced FSQA professional looking to take the next step into senior leadership with one of Australia's leading food manufacturing businesses.

 

Your key responsibilities and learning opportunities will include:

  • Develop knowledge of and support the implementation and maintenance of site Food Safety and Quality Management Systems
  • Work collaboratively with quality and operational teams to achieve food safety, quality and customer requirements
  • Develop knowledge of and assist in maintaining compliance with DAFF, Approved Arrangement (AA), AUS-MEAT, customer and export market requirements
  • Perform monitoring and verify FSQA activities across processing, production, laboratory and dispatch operations
  • Participate in internal, customer, regulatory and third-party audits
  • Assist with the review, maintenance and continuous improvement of Quality management Systems, procedures and supporting documentation
  • Investigate quality and food safety challenges, identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions
  • Monitor hygiene standards, environmental programs, pest control and process control systems
  • Assist with product, process and customer complaint investigations
  • Contribute to training, coaching and development of FSQA personnel and operational teams  
  • Assist the Site FSQA Manager in driving a strong food safety culture across the facility
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance food safety, quality and operational performance

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience in a Food Safety and Quality Assurance role within the meat processing, food manufacturing or related industry
  • Strong understanding of HACCP principles and food safety systems
  • Knowledge of export meat processing requirements, Approved Arrangements and regulatory compliance
  • Experience working with DAFF, AUS-MEAT and customer quality requirements
  • Internal audit experience and/or auditing qualifications highly regarded
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause investigation skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to influence positive food safety behaviours within operational teams
  • Strong attention to detail and compliance focus
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with a desire to progress into a management role
  • Sound computer literacy and experience using quality management systems
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, Quality Assurance or related discipline highly regarded
  • AUS-MEAT competencies and meat industry experience highly regarded
