Job Title: Environmental & Projects Officer – Beef City Plant

An exciting opportunity for a Environmental & Projects Officer at the Beef City Plant is currently available. This is a full time position , Monday to Friday on day shift.

Reporting to the Plant Engineer, the successful applicant will require a passion for dealing with Environment and other Plant Projects in a professional and focused manner whilst following processes and guidelines as directed.

Beef City is located 35 km west of Toowoomba in the region of Darling Downs – QLD.

 About the Role

  • Develop and deliver a sustainability program for the business
  • Integrate the sustainability program into our environmental management system and programs.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders for internal Plant Projects related to Environment and other areas.
  • Defining the sustainability program and initiatives
  • Monitoring and evaluation of environmental risk and environmental performance projects and drive bench marking activities
  • Promote a culture of sustainable development and improvements
  • Maintain records, prepare statistics, write reports and investigate complaints
  • Auditing and compliance management will also be an essential part of the role.

  Your responsibilities will include:

  • Help us improve the way things are done and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Know and be familiar with company processes, operating procedures and policies for your role.
  • Commit to using JBS Australia best known processes, operating procedures and policies for your role.
  • Report all workplace incidents, accidents and hazards immediately to your Manager and rectify minor hazards that can be safely controlled.
  • Continued ability to meet the Critical Job Demands for the position.
  • Meet all requirements relating to Quality, OH&S and Environmental Management as stated in the JBS Australia Team Member Handbook

 About you:

  • Experience with reporting (Preferred)
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental science or related discipline.(Preferred)
  • Previous experience in a similar position. (Preferred)
  • Be able to demonstrate an extensive track record in sustainability management and relevant legislation.
  • Experience in project management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written).
  • Proactive, flexible and adaptable
