Ideally located in the prime grain and cattle producing region of the Darling Downs, 35km west of Toowoomba, the 26,500 head capacity feedlot has a strong reputation for producing high quality grain fed beef for key domestic and international customers, and employs approximately 50 team members.

About the Role

The JBS Beef City Feedlot is currently recruiting an experienced Boilermaker/Welder to join the team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position forms part of a small team that is responsible for the fabrication, repairs and maintenance of the feedlot and farm infrastructure.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Reading and interpreting drawings
  • Fabrication, installation and repairs to machinery and infrastructure to a high standard
  • Cutting, shaping and joining metal components using welding, brazing and other metal working techniques
  • Ensuring all finished products meet specifications
  • Collaborating with the supervisor to optimize workflows and troubleshoot issues
  • Maintaining a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all health and safety requirements

 

About You

  • Relevant Trade qualification in Boilermaking or Welding
  • Demonstrated proficiency in welding techniques including MIG, TIG and stick welding
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Commitment to delivering high quality work
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
  • Ability to work safely and adhere to all relevant health and safety requirements
