About the Role
The newly established Workforce Planning Lead position, based at either our Wacol (QLD) or Chullora (NSW) site, is pivotal in translating production and demand forecasts into actionable workforce strategies that ensure operational continuity and drive efficiency. This role involves designing robust staffing models, both immediate and long-term, utilising capacity modelling, scenario planning, and contingency workflows to maintain dynamic, data-driven adaptability in operations.
You'll collaborate with Operations, Finance, HR, Safety, and Integrated Business Planning teams to align workforce design with broader organisational goals. Your strategic planning will ensure we deploy the right people at the right time.
You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Developing and implementing workforce plans, forecasts, and continuity measures for daily operations.
- Delivering resourcing solutions to meet operational needs, aligning with strategic priorities, and coordinating deployment.
- Embedding fatigue management strategies and contingency staffing for critical technical roles.
- Driving efficiency in coverage, utilisation, and service quality, incorporating customer and business needs.
- Monitoring capacity plans to forecast readiness for future production demands.
- Leading scenario planning to uncover risks, opportunities, and flexible resourcing strategies.
- Troubleshooting complex planning challenges, identifying interdependencies, and facilitating practical solutions.
What You’ll Do:
- Translate production and demand forecasts into effective workforce strategies, including short- and long-term planning.
- Align workforce planning with organisational priorities and coordinate resource acquisition and deployment.
- Champion fatigue management and contingency planning across operational roles.
- Use continuous improvement methods to optimise staffing coverage, utilisation, and service delivery quality.
- Collaborate across teams: Operations, Planning, HR, Finance, Safety to ensure forecasts reflect production realities.
- Engage in scenario planning to anticipate workforce-related risks and develop flexible staffing solutions.
- Tackle planning complexities with clear interdependency mapping and stakeholder alignment.
About You:
- You have led end-to-end workforce planning in operational environments, transforming data into actionable staffing strategies that align with business objectives.
- You have swiftly identified and mitigated workforce risks, ensuring operational continuity under tight deadlines.
- You have utilised advanced planning tools to enhance forecasting accuracy and decision-making.
- You have designed adaptive staffing models that flexibly respond to changing operational demands.
- You have applied sound judgment within unionised or multi-agreement environments, balancing fairness and organisational needs.
- You have collaborated effectively with operations, HR, finance, and leadership to align workforce strategies seamlessly.
- You have demonstrated unwavering integrity and accountability, fostering trust and clarity across all levels.
