Warehouse Supervisor

The Warehouse Supervisor role, based at our Prestons site and reporting directly to the Site Manager, is a key leadership position within our operations team.

 

In this hands-on role, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day warehouse performance, driving safe, efficient, and reliable operations in a fast-paced FMCG environment. You’ll lead from the front—coaching, motivating, and developing your team while playing an active role in planning, problemsolving, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Supervise the warehouse team in day-to-day operations across warehouse and transport areas
  • Lead all aspects of warehouse operations including storage, pick and pack, dispatch, and inventory accuracy
  • Ensure high standards of housekeeping are consistently maintained
  • Supervise chiller and freezer operations in line with safety, HACCP, AQIS, and Safe Food requirements
  • Conduct dock, chiller, and freezer floor walks at the start and end of each shift
  • Ensure all WHS requirements are met, including staff training and correct use of PPE
  • Log repairs and maintenance issues and work with Maintenance to ensure timely resolution
  • Partner closely with the Site Manager on labour planning and peak-period requirements
  • Manage labour resourcing, overtime, and floor staff performance
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, damages, breakdowns, and credit claims
  • Complete regular stocktakes and ensure all procedures and reporting requirements are executed
  • Lead daily meetings covering safety, performance, issues, feedback, and continuous improvement
  • Identify skill gaps and development needs within the team and support cross-training
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of all MHE through checklists and reporting
  • Actively participate in audits, inspections, and compliance activities

 

 

About You

You’re a confident, floor-based leader who enjoys responsibility and accountability and knows how to get the best from a diverse warehouse team.

 

  • Proven experience in a warehouse supervisory role, ideally within FMCG
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, distribution processes, and inventory control
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and achieving operational KPIs
  • Solid understanding of WHS requirements, incident management, and safe work practices
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels
  • Experience using inventory management systems and MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
