About the Role

We’re looking for a Technical Learning Specialist – Trades to lead the design and delivery of technical learning programs across our national trades workforce.  Operating out of our dedicated Technical Training Centre, you’ll drive learning programs in a simulated environment and work closely with internal stakeholders in Operations to improve efficiencies in learning delivery.

This is a greenfield opportunity where you’ll create curriculum from scratch, set up training frameworks, and partner with OEMs, engineering teams, and industry bodies to ensure our people have the skills to maintain and repair complex machinery.

You’ll act as the conduit between Operations and Learning & Development, ensuring all programs meet compliance standards and deliver measurable impact. This role offers the chance to shape the future of technical learning at Primo and influence early careers programs down the track.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement trades learning programs and curriculum nationally.
• Operate from the Technical Training Centre, delivering programs.
• Collaborate with Operations to streamline and improve learning delivery efficiency.
• Partner with OEMs, RTOs, and professional bodies to deliver high-quality training.
• Conduct learning needs analysis and develop competency-based frameworks.
• Oversee training delivery through our dedicated centre and evaluate ROI.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to embed learning on the job.
• Ensure compliance with Australian standards and maintain accurate LMS records.
• Support transformation initiatives and contribute to future apprenticeship programs.

About You

• Background in technical learning, instructional design, and competency-based training.
• Experience in heavy industry or trades environments (FMCG, transport, energy, manufacturing).
• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or equivalent adult learning qualification.
• Strong stakeholder management and project/program delivery skills.
• Hands-on, resilient, and passionate about building technical capability.
• Willing to travel interstate and work onsite.
