Shopper Marketing Manager

Are you a commercially minded shopper marketing specialist with a passion for driving conversion and growth across retail and digital channels? 

 

Primo is seeking a Shopper Marketing Manager to lead the development and execution of insight-led, omnichannel shopper marketing strategies across our retail, food service, and route-to-market customers. 

 

In this role, you’ll connect brand strategy with customer execution, owning the end-to-end delivery of shopper marketing campaigns that drive penetration, conversion, and profitable growth. You’ll work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Category and Finance, while also leading our digital and retail media strategy to deliver measurable, data-driven outcomes. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute shopper marketing strategies aligned to brand, customer and business priorities 
  • Own the shopper activation calendar, ensuring strong cross-functional alignment and execution 
  • Lead the development of insight-led, omnichannel campaigns across in-store, digital and customer programs 
  • Drive campaign performance through clear measurement of ROI, incrementality, and optimisation insights 
  • Manage agency partners and lead the development of impactful shopper marketing materials 
  • Oversee participation in key customer programs (e.g. Coles, Woolworths, Metcash, Food Service) 
  • Own Primo’s retail media and eCommerce strategy, including Cartology, Coles360 and LocalEyes 
  • Optimise digital shelf performance, including search, content, availability and visibility 
  • Deliver campaigns that increase traffic, conversion, basket size and shopper loyalty 
  • Manage multiple projects and budgets, ensuring delivery on time, in full, and within investment parameters 

 

What You'll Bring

  • 3–5+ years’ experience in FMCG shopper marketing, trade marketing or a related field 
  • Strong understanding of FMCG dynamics, retail customers and performance drivers 
  • Proven ability to translate data and shopper insights into effective marketing strategies 
  • Experience managing retail media and eCommerce platforms 
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence P&L outcomes 
  • Highly developed stakeholder management and influencing capability 
  • Strong analytical, planning and project management skills 
  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Business or a related discipline
