About the Role:

Primo Foods currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician at our facility in Chullora, Sydney. This role will be responsible for providing maintenance across the plant where required, providing leadership and support across the business to drive a culture of continuous improvement.

 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensure the availability, reliability and capability of the plant assets.
  • Monitor, follow-up and address issues associated with the implementation and process of planned and unplanned maintenance tasks.
  • Continuous improvement of plant equipment and systems
  • Communication with management in relation to equipment and maintenance issues
  • Understand and implement quality control techniques.
  • Proactive approach in the implementation of preventative maintenance
  • Be actively involved with the inspections of equipment undergoing rebuild or repair.
  • Assembling and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems
  • Estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements

 

About you:

  • Experience in repairs and maintenance in an electro-mechanical discipline or similar.
  • Experience in maintenance in an FMCG food environment.
  • Effective problem-solving ability
  • A thorough understanding of maintenance work & practices
  • Experience gained from a heavy industrial organisation or similar.
  • Specific experience in meat processing equipment namely, Treif Slicers and dicers, Ishida multi-head weighers, Vemag Fillers, Multivac Thermoformers, & Bizerba metal detectors and labelling systems.
  • Proven ability to lead by example, engage and motivate others.
  • The ability to implement technical equipment improvements.
  • Proven experience with PLC’s and troubleshooting
  • Ability to work weekends where required.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
