About the Role
Primo Foods are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join the Engineering team based in Chullora, Sydney.
This role has responsibility for a wide range of engineering and maintenance activities associated with the operations of a fast-paced manufacturing facility. The Maintenance Manager provides direction and guidance to the Maintenance Planners and Maintenance Supervisors to ensure the maintenance and repair of the electrical and mechanical assets, utilising a team of tradespeople to ensuring safety, production, cost, compliance, planning, reporting and plant improvement outcomes are achieved.
Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Take a proactive role with all aspects of running the engineering and maintenance operations;
- Monitor and report on maintenance related downtime;
- Liaise with the Shift Maintenance Supervisor at the start of day shift and on weekends as required to develop a daily work plan for the maintenance crew;
- Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance and engineering systems of control appropriate for the plant operations.
- Proactively analyse the CMMS data to identify weaknesses in equipment and/or maintenance policies to eliminate repetitive breakdowns;
- Ensure completion of planned and unplanned maintenance tasks;
- Prepare and submit minor capital applications;
- Manage nominated capital projects, including initiation, design and cost estimation, preparation of submissions, implementation and cost monitoring and control, completion and auditing of achieved savings and gains;
- Capture maintenance performance data.
- Produce daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly & yearly reports.
- Capture all work order/ request data & close off orders.
- Initiate and assist with analysis on maintenance performance data to identify areas of opportunity.
- Initiate and assist with root cause analysis of reoccurring breakdown issues
About you:
- Degree/Diploma in an Engineering or Technical Bachelor discipline (Mechanical, E&A, Process, Industrial engineering, or similar), including food processing plants and technologies (Maintenance and Utilities), food safety, hygienic engineering. Advanced electrical or mechanical trade or post-trade qualifications and experience. Post trade qualifications in supervision or management.
- Experience in the supervision and maintenance in a fast-moving food manufacturing environment.
- A thorough understanding of maintenance work management practices.
- Proven ability to lead, manage and motivate staff
- Experience in estimating, tendering and supervision of sub-contractors
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy, CMMS knowledge/experience.

- Proactive self-starter and ability to think ahead
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and overtime in line with the business requirements
