Primo Foods, with a new management team, now part of the JBS business which is the largest meat processor, exporter and feedlotter in Australia, this position offers the opportunity to join our industry leading team. An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team at our Chullora facilities in the suburb of Canterbury-Bankstown. We are seeking a passionate and energetic individual with a proactive mindset who is committed to providing an effective professional service. This role will be responsible for solely providing preventative maintenance support across the production plant. This role is on a full time permanent bases, have that added security with entitlements. 


We operate Monday to Friday on permanent morning or afternoon shifts, take your pick, early riser or night owl, with regular opportunities for overtime.


Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Ensure maximum equipment uptime is achieved by providing effective and efficient mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance.
  • Engage in making, fitting or repairing mechanical machines, instruments or appliance to ensure equipment and facilities are in optimum condition for their intended use.
  • Ensure that all mechanical work is carried out to meet the Company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations.
  • Demonstrates ability to identify faults through the use of fault finding techniques with the ability to troubleshoot and rectify problems.
  • Participate and be a viable role with any existing or upcoming projects.


About you:

  • Certificate III or above qualifications in hydraulics or pneumatics; and/or
  • Certificate IV Engineering Mechanical Special Class; and/or
  • Certificate IV Fluid Power (Pneumatics)
  • Ability to MIG and TIG Weld Stainless steel highly desired
  • Forklift Ticket highly desired
  • Effective and efficient fault finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of WHS regulations/procedures.
  • Confined Space and BA Competence highly desired.
  • Experience in maintenance/repair in a fast-paced modern manufacturing environment FMCG - (food experience would be highly regarded although not essential)
