We are looking for a skilled Machine Operator to join our growing team!

 

About your new role

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Food Processing Machine Operator to support our production team. As a Machine Operator at Andrews Meat Industries, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment involved in meat processing and packaging. You will ensure that all production runs efficiently, safely, and in compliance with food safety regulations.  This is a full-time ongoing role, based in Lidcombe.

What are the role responsibilities?

This role would be responsible but not limited to the following tasks:

  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery to minimize downtime.
  • Operate a crane hoist in a safe manner.
  • Plan and organize daily cooking operations.
  • Ability to cook using computer programs while monitoring the process from  from start to finish.
  • Monitor the cooking process from start to finish, ensuring that dishes are prepared according to recipes, standards, and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to meet production goals.
  • Ownership and accountability regarding Safety Start up checks and processes
  • Preoperational Checks & Line set up
  • QC compliance including but not limited to: temperature checks and product quality checks
  • Packing & Palletising
  • Replenishing line with packs/raw materials
  • General housekeeping
  • GMP compliance
  • To work as directed by supervisors and managers to fulfil business requirements – including backfilling other roles as necessary

 

Who we are looking for?

  • Previous experience in machine operation, ideally in the food or meat processing industry.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot production machinery.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and food safety standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Physical ability to lift, stand for long periods, and work in cold environments.
