About the Role
Primo Foods has a great opportunity for a Factory Manager to join the team. This role oversees the manufacturing operations of our factory in Chullora, Sydney. The Factory Manager is to drive efficient and quality ensured manufacturing practices, focus on manufacturing efficiencies and continuous improvement projects and integrate and develop existing and new production facilities and processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing overall direction of the production, quality, research and development, safety, logistics and maintenance activities across the site
- Developing, implementing and maintaining up to date standard operating procedures
- Leading and developing an efficiency focused manufacturing culture to gain continual process improvements across all divisions
- Creating / improving management control systems, review performance and overcome performance limiting issues
- Monitoring production output costs and adjust processes and resources to ensure (labour) cents per kilo budget is not exceeded
- Evaluating and adjusting available production capacity and planned requirements
- Plan future manufacturing programs to obtain maximum value from production resources such as equipment, machines and testing as well as personnel
- Managing expenditures for equipment, materials, and human resources, ensuring they are used efficiently to meet production targets.
- Monitoring production scheduling to ensure all resources are used to optimise output
- Monitoring procurement effectiveness to ensure materials and consumables are available within required timeframes.
- Ensuring product quality standards are developed and met.
- Managing the administrative function ensuring that production, project and quality documentation is accurate and timely.
- Ensuring issues are managed as they arise, reducing the impact of unforeseen difficulties and downtime.
About you:
- Extensive experience in manufacturing management
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in production and logistics
- Knowledge of food manufacturing, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective production performance
- Excellent planning and attention to detail
- Clear and concise communication skills
- Full understanding of safety and hygiene regulations.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Lean manufacturing qualifications or implementation experience
- Knowledge of meat manufacturing operations
- Approachable and enthusiastic
- Flexible and adaptable
