Continuous Improvement Coordinator
About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and energetic Continuous Improvement Coordinator, with a high-performance mindset, to join our management team at our Scone plant, located just 2 hours north west of Newcastle in the Beautiful Upper Hunter. Reporting to the Plant Manager and supported by our Head of Innovation and Industrial Engineer, this role forms an integral part of our Operational Excellence team and is responsible for site level innovations and industrial engineering as well as drive and develop the site’s continuous improvement culture. Your well-honed technical, plant operational and management skills will be fundamental to your candidacy, however success in this role requires a demonstration of leadership skills necessary in sustaining a culture of high performance, safety and team retention/development. You will be known for your ability to develop collaborative & time critical solutions using solid industrial engineering principles to improve efficiencies and support multiple operational functions performed on site.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
- Investigate and implement new practices and technologies
- Develop and implement cutting edge systems and solutions from around the world
- Support the site engineering & maintenance function of trades professionals, maintenance supervisor and planner
- Engage with the wider site leadership team to ensure overall plant priorities are known, understood and met through both continuous improvement and innovation
- Budgeting and cost control of individual projects
- Build a lean mind-set in team members across all disciplines
- Attend Business Unit functional meetings to identify and understand improvement business opportunities
- Comprehend and overcome multi-faceted obstacles and clearly communicate outcomes whilst ensuring all team members are brought along for the journey
- Develop business proposals and costing justifications for Industrial Engineering and innovation improvements
About you
- Hands-on & collaborative leadership skills
- Experience in a fast-moving food manufacturing environment preferred
- Demonstrated ability to support, communicate and motivate staff to continuously improve
- Strong capability to utilise problem solving tools such as PDCA, ‘5 Whys’ and KPI’s to drive an outcome.
- Strong investigative and route cause analysis skills
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong project management skills
- Sound knowledge of WH&S practices and ability to drive safety improvements in a team environment
