Located in the Beef Capital of Australia, the JBS Rockhampton processing facility produces a range of pasture fed and grain fed beef products, from commodity to premium. Our organic beef brand, Acres Organic and Right to Roam, our verified grass-fed beef brand is both packed exclusively at Rockhampton. The plant employs approximately 500 team members with a current processing capacity of 700 head of beef cattle per day, operating 6 days/week.

About the Role

We are currently seeking an Accountant to join our Rockhampton team in a full-time capacity. If you have a background in finance and are looking to further develop your accounting skills, this could be the role for you!

You will be responsible for all finance-related transactions including month end, journals, gathering data, processing accounting requests, assisting with month end reporting, as well as supporting the Plant Manager as required. Your other key duties will include:

• Collecting and recording of data for preparation of timely and accurate weekly/monthly results and reports
• Preparing journals and month-end reports including analysis of operating costs
• Business partner to Plant Manager and Operational team to align performance and financial processes
• Identifying challenges and opportunities and recommending corrective actions to meet cost performance targets

About You

• Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
• Passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on system improvement
• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or similar discipline
• Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of accounting principles
• Problem solving abilities
• Strong system knowledge including MS Excel and SAP
