About the Role
The JBS Rockhampton Maintenance team is currently recruiting an Apprentice Electrician to join the team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Plant Engineer and joining a team of experienced tradespeople (including Fitters, Electricians and Plumbers) this apprenticeship opportunity is ideal for anyone looking to develop their Electrical trade skills in a fast-paced, industry leading food manufacturing environment.
We are open to speaking with apprentices at any point in their apprenticeship. (Adult apprentice rate of pay is a percentage of the qualified trades rate.)
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring maximum equipment uptime is achieved by providing effective and efficient mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance
- Engaging in fabrication, installation and repair of mechanical machines, instruments or appliances
- Ensuring all work is carried out to company requirements and conforms to relevant regulations
- Identifying faults through the use of fault-finding techniques with the ability to troubleshoot and rectify problems
About You
- Must have a full driver’s license and reliable transport
- Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures
- Ability to work with and under the supervision of tradespeople
- Ability to attend TAFE as required
- Demonstrated interest in the trade
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Completion of a High School Certificate (minimum grade 10) highly regarded
- Good attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Good understanding of mathematics
- Basic understanding of computer systems
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts across a 6-day production roster
