About the Role
To facilitate the ongoing growth of JBS Australia, we are currently recruiting a Project Engineer to join the Northern Operations team in a newly created full-time position. Reporting to the Divisional Engineer – Northern, this position will be based at our Northern Ops head office in Riverview (Ipswich) and will be responsible for the delivery of key projects, ensuring safety, production, cost, compliance, planning, reporting and plant improvement outcomes are achieved.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Being a key stakeholder in developing an agreed rolling 3-year Divisional project forecast
- Developing and implementing effective and efficient capital program systems of control
- Monitoring and reviewing annual, quarterly and monthly capital activities across all sites to ensure priorities are clearly known, agreed and met
- Providing direction, advice and assistance to the Engineering/Maintenance teams to ensure alignment with the Northern capital plan;
- Being an advocate for key capital program value added interventions at relevant meetings
- Managing budget and cost controls, e.g. capital project spend, short and long-range forecasts, rolling CAPEX plans
- Monitoring and responding to engineering and operational capital needs/initiatives
- Ensuring the effective and efficient use of contractors and suppliers
- Managing materials including ensuring spares/inventory are included with capital projects
- Leading with engineering teams in collaboration with the Northern R&M Manager in the development of life cycle replacement program on existing assets
- Proactive analysis of production and maintenance information to identify weaknesses in equipment and/or processes to eliminate repetitive breakdowns or identify opportunities in process capabilities
- Leading and managing nominated capital projects including initiation, design and cost estimation, preparation of submissions, implementation and cost monitoring and control, completion and auditing of achieved savings and gains
About You
Alongside your advanced qualifications and extensive experience within a fast moving, food manufacturing environment, you will also possess:
- Electrical or mechanical degree
- Experience in simultaneously leading numerous large-scale projects in a FMCG environment
- A thorough understanding of Capital work management practices
- The ability to plan organise and control project activities to optimise the use of available resources
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective problem-solving capacity
- Sound knowledge of WH&S regulations
- Advanced relevant computer skills
