Management Accountant, Feedlots (3-Month Contract)
About the Role
JBS Australia is currently seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our Northern Ops Finance team in a 3-month contract capacity. This role supports financial operations across JBS feedlots and adjacent farms (QLD and NSW), ensuring accurate reporting, cost control, and strategic financial insights. As our Management Accountant you will work closely with operational teams to manage farm-related financial processes, drive system improvements, and support decision-making through robust analysis and reporting.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and manage weekly & end-of-month (EOM) reconciliations across feedlots and farms, including P&L to balance sheet account reconciliations
- Perform P&L vs budget variance analysis and provide commentary to support operational decision-making
- Process and review journal entries related to rentals, asset depreciation, consultancy fees, lease clearing, and cattle levies
- Perform bulk journal transfers and reclassifications to ensure accurate cost centre allocations and financial reporting
- Support intercompany transactions and head office recharge processes, ensuring correct documentation and linkage across SAP modules
- Monitor and reconcile income and expense transactions across feedlots and farms
- Manage inventory transactions and reconcile inventory using SAP inventory T-codes such as MB51
- Prepare and deliver weekly financial reports and reconciliations to support operational visibility and performance tracking
- Use SAP to manage journal entries, reconciliations, and cost allocations, and reconcile SAP data with external systems (Excel, PowerBI, farm management tools)
- Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and reporting processes
About You
- Tertiary qualifications and professional membership (CA or CPA) desirable
- Experience in a similar management accounting role in a large business
- High attention to detail
- Advanced MS Excel skills including macros
- Experience with data reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, QlikSense or equivalent) desirable
- SAP experience desirable
- Ability to prioritise, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to identify basic cause and effect relationships with strong analytical skills
- Strong commercial acumen to ensure data-informed decision making
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
- Energetic, passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on system improvement
