About the Role

Our goal is to attract and develop talented professionals into our business. A guaranteed full-time, mutually agreed position will be available within JBS Australia upon successful completion of the Livestock Cadet program.

 

The Livestock Cadetship ensures you are exposed to all parts of the JBS Livestock business through specific rotations, including the opportunity to work within our Sales Division and learn how to market our global award-winning JBS products. To ensure you succeed in the role you will also learn all aspects of our Livestock Divisions including inspecting, drafting and purchasing cattle for our Plants and Feedlots, purchasing saleyard cattle for our Plants, slaughter programming and documentation auditing, as well as building and developing client relationships.

 

Your key rotations will include:

  • Cattle assessment, paddock and saleyards
  • Vendor relationships
  • Kill programming
  • Production overview
  • Feedlot animal health and treatment
  • Shipping and documentation and sales

 

Overnight travel to the Feedlot and Plant facilities may be required from time to time. More importantly, the successful candidate may also be required to temporarily relocate for a rotation depending on business needs.

 

About You

  • Experience in livestock or agribusiness beneficial but not essential
  • Successful completion of Year 12
  • Must hold current driver’s license
  • Self-motivated and ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills
  • Basic computer skills including MS outlook, word and excel
  • Proven ability to take ownership and show initiative
