About the Role

 

You will be responsible for the efficient processing and management of QLD Workers’ Compensation Claims. As part of managing your own portfolio of claims, you will be required to determine liabilities on new and continuing claims, make decisions in relation to the legal aspects of the claims and oversee the effective rehabilitation of the injured worker. This position will suit a driven and adaptable individual, who enjoys working as part of a cohesive team.

 

The role’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

 

  • Determine and manage a caseload of statutory claims through to finalisation with respect to QLD Workers Compensation Legislation.
  • Interpret legislation with respect to QLD Workers Compensation.
  • Authorise, process and reconcile claim payments.
  • Determine statutory liability for unassessed injuries on Notices of Claims for Damages.
  • Liaising with internal and external parties to source relevant evidence.
  • Authorise, process and reconcile claim payments.
  • Related administrative duties including processing of invoices, data entry and file management.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by Team Leader.
  • Work as an integral member of the Workers Compensation Department

 

About you

 

  • 1 - 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy in excel, word and outlook.
  • Knowledge of Workers Compensation claims management related laws, medical and legal terminology.
  • Responds calmly in difficult situations maintaining a strong customer service focus.
  • Exceptional ability to prioritise and multi-skill.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environment. 
  • Takes other's perspectives into consideration.
  • Must be energetic, passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on system improvement.
