Assistant Plant Manager

JBS Australia is currently seeking a highly motivated Assistant Plant Manager to join our Dinmore facility. This is a key leadership role supporting the Plant Manager in driving operational excellence across one of Australia’s largest and most dynamic food processing sites.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Assistant Plant Manager plays a critical role in the day-to-day leadership of plant operations. You will work closely with department managers across production, maintenance, quality, and logistics to ensure performance, safety and people outcomes are consistently achieved.

This is an opportunity for a strong leader to step into a senior operational role with real impact across a large workforce and complex processing environment.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Support the overall management and performance of plant operations
• Drive production efficiency, yield performance and cost control outcomes
• Lead and coach departmental leaders to deliver on business targets
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality and regulatory requirements
• Partner with maintenance and engineering teams to optimise plant reliability
• Support workforce planning, labour utilisation and shift performance
• Foster a positive workplace culture across multiple departments and shifts
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site

About You

• Proven experience in a senior operations or production leadership role
• Background in food processing, manufacturing, or a high-volume industrial environment (meat industry experience highly regarded)
• Strong leadership capability with the ability to influence and develop large teams
• Solid understanding of yield management, production KPIs and cost control
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and compliance
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
