Trades Assistant

We have new opportunities within our Port Wakefield Maintenance Team for 2X Trades Assistants. These are casual day shift positions, for the right individual there may be an opportunity to move to a Full Time Position and also an apprenticeship in Mechanical Fitting or Electrical.  As the Trade Assistant, you will routinely carry out the planned maintenance checks as scheduled and conduct basic assessments, providing feedback on condition and potential failure of equipment.  This is a great opportunity to join a leading Brand and progress your Maintenance career!

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Communicate plant issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Other responsibilities that may come up, such as working on projects.
• Completion and return of preventive maintenance and repair work orders.
• Undertake daily, weekly and annual repair and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Monitor and report on maintenance related downtime.
• Ensure appropriate completion of planned and unplanned maintenance tasks.

About you:

• Experience in maintenance/repair in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
• Basic problem solving and diagnostics.
• Understanding of work planning and scheduling procedures.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work collaboratively with factory floor staff.
• Strong proactive and positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the role.
