JBS Australia’s pork-processing facility is located in Port Wakefield, South Australia. All pigs are sourced from APIQ-accredited farms and is 100% bred, grown and finished in Australia with industry best-practice animal welfare standards. The brand, Seven Point Australian Pork, was developed specifically to meet the needs of an increasing desire from consumers for ‘locally made’ and ‘Australian made’ product.

About the Role:

 

An exciting opportunity exists at our Port Wakefield Plant for experienced Skilled Slaughter and Boning Workers. This is a full-time position with the potential to earn $54,000 or more with additional allowances and/or overtime.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • To adhere to Workplace Health & Safety and Quality procedures
  • Ability to work within a team environment with the ability to take direction
  • Good communications skills essential
  • Demonstrated integrity and good presentation
  • A professional work attitude
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Superior attendance
  • Performing high levels of Slaughtering duties
  • High focus & attention to detail

 

About you:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in Slaughtering/ Boning duties required. 
  • Relevant qualification (Cert 2/3 Meat processing) advantageous but not essential.
  • Knowledge and understanding of different rotations.
  • Proven high level of knife sharpening skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Quality Requirements.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work with supervisors on improving daily duties.
