Induction Hand - Mungindi Feedlot

About the Role

The JBS Mungindi Feedlot team are currently recruiting a motivated Induction Hand to join the team in a full-time capacity. This role would be best suited to someone looking to further develop their cattle handling, livestock diagnosis and treatment skills within a Feedlot environment. 

 

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Daily livestock handling including moving cattle from receival pens through the Induction process and into home pens
  • Drafting cattle
  • Following documentation and count cattle to ensure correct numbers of cattle are being inducted
  • Maintaining accurate records of cattle movements
  • Ensuring water troughs are cleaned twice a week and that cattle have access to water at all times
  • Following procedures to ensure meet QA compliance
  • Ensuring compliance with OH&S, Animal Welfare and Environmental regulations

About Us

Strategically located on the Queensland and NSW border, 132km west of Goondiwindi. the JBS Mungindi Feedlot is in a prime grain, cotton and livestock production area. With a capacity of 22,000+ head and employing approximately 20 team members, the feedlot feeds all breeds of cattle including Bos indicus, British and European as well program specific breeds. The Mungindi team live locally in the small rural community minded townships of Mungindi and Talwood, and are responsible for all feedlot operations.
