We currently have an exciting opportunity for a WHS Shift Officer to join our dynamic team based in our Brooklyn Plant. The successful applicant for this position will be working closely with the WHS team and reporting directly to the WHS Manager and primarily work on the Morning Shift, with availability to provide occasional support to the Afternoon and Night Shifts, as well as weekends when required. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, dedicated to maintain a healthy a safe workplace.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Work closely with the WHS team to support safety initiatives and well-being programs.
  • Report hazards, manage corrective actions, and engage with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely resolution and closure of safety issues.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Provide guidance on WHS compliance and safety practices across shifts.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and promote a positive safety culture.
  • Deliver engaging toolbox talks to employees, promoting safety awareness and fostering a proactive safety culture.
  • Engage with employees and operations leaders to drive safety improvements, and foster a collaborative approach to hazard management.
  • Support first aid matters as required.

 

What you’ll bring to the table

 

  • Certificate IV in WHS minimum.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the manufacturing industry. 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with employees and stakeholders.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously and part of a team.
  • Ability to build reports and computer skills.
  • Availability to work on nigh shift and weekends when required.
