About the role:
We are currently seeking a proactive and dedicated WHS Officer PM to join our dynamic team at the JBS Brooklyn Plant. In this role, you will work closely with the WHS team and report directly to the WHS Manager. Your primary coverage will be during the afternoon shift, with flexibility to occasionally support the morning shift and Saturday operations when required.
This position is ideal for someone passionate about safety, committed to upholding a strong safety culture, and confident in engaging with employees and leaders to ensure compliance, prevent incidents, and continuously improve our workplace health and safety performance.
Responsibilities:
· Work collaboratively with the WHS team to deliver safety initiatives, well-being programs, and continuous improvement activities.
· Identify and report hazards, follow up on corrective actions, and work with supervisors and area leaders to ensure timely and effective closure.
· Conduct routine WHS inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations in line with OHS Regulations and JBS standards.
· Provide clear guidance and support to operational leaders to ensure compliance with WHS procedures, safe work practices, and legislative requirements.
· Promote strong safety behaviours by ensuring adherence to protocols, encouraging accountability, and reinforcing a proactive safety culture across shifts.
· Deliver engaging and informative toolbox talks to employees and supervisors, strengthening safety awareness and understanding of critical risks.
· Engage with employees and operational teams on the floor to identify hazards, validate controls, and drive practical safety improvements.
· Provide support with first aid matters when required and assist in monitoring injury trends to prevent re-occurrence.
About you:
· Hold a minimum of Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety.
· Demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally within the manufacturing industry.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and influence effectively with leaders, employees and stakeholders.
· Strong problem-solving capability with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
· Computer skills, including managing emails, preparing reports, presentations and using Excel and Outlook.
