We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Tutor/Trainer for the Small Harvest Floor (Lamb Specialist) to join our dynamic team based in our Brooklyn Plant.
The successful applicant for this position is enthusiastic and passionate about educating and communicating with colleagues to teach, upskill and improve their skills, abilities and efficiency
Responsibilities:
- Design, deliver, and document practical, on-the-job training for all critical harvest line positions (e.g., stunning, sticking, skinning, evisceration, trimming).
- Manage the training life-cycle for new and transitioning employees, from induction through to final skill assessment
- Conduct formal competency assessments for trainees, providing documentation and reports on performance gaps to the Harvest Floor Supervisor and HR Manager.
- Upskilling and training existing employees, including formal induction and skill assessment before placement into new roles.
- Assist in formulating/updating Task Descriptions and SOPs to ensure training materials reflect the most current and best-known processes.
- Fulfil Administration requirements and ensure training is aligned with JBS Pillars to achieve all business goals.
What you’ll bring to the table
- Confident to coach new employees on various tasks in the production area.
- A sound knowledge and coaching ability to ensure new employees know how to sharpen and maintain a knife.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with language restrictions to ensure the transfer of knowledge to all employees is effective and efficient.
- Skills and experience to make sound judgments of trainees’ ability to complete their tasks adequately.
- Manage a task rotation program to ensure trainees are competent at all required tasks before signing off.
- The ability to work flexibly and proactively in a team environment with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to identify potential employees for ongoing up-skilling and refresher training.
