Talent Acquisition Manager, Southern
JBS Australia’s Southern Division, headquartered in Melbourne, has the largest multi-species processing facility in Australia, processing beef, sheep, and goats. JBS Southern processing facilities have access to all major international markets, providing our livestock suppliers with a range of markets and brand opportunities.
We are seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Manager to lead and evolve our Southern Talent Acquisition function.
In this senior role, you will partner closely with site HR teams, Mobility, and Employee Experience to deliver workforce solutions aligned to business priorities. You will have accountability for our PALM labour hire strategy, international mobility pathways, executive recruitment, and the ongoing development of sustainable talent pipelines across Southern operations.
This key leadership role combines strategic workforce planning with strong operational delivery and requires regular collaboration across sites and with external stakeholders, holding accountability across the following critical workforce and capability domains:
- Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- PALM & International Recruitment
- Executive & Skilled Migration Pathways
- Accommodation & Compliance Support
- Leadership & Capability Development
- Lead and support the Brooklyn Talent Acquisition team
Key Responsibilities Include (But Are Not Limited To):
- Lead the Southern Talent Acquisition function in alignment with the People & Culture Plan, partnering with site HR teams to forecast and deliver workforce requirements.
- Design and execute effective recruitment strategies across executive, operational, PALM, and international hiring, using both traditional and innovative sourcing channels.
- Lead our annual PALM workforce planning including overseas selection, pre‑employment assessments, and end‑to‑end compliance in partnership with our Mobility team.
- Support skilled migration pathways by delivering executive recruitment, progressing PALM and 403 visa holders into 482 Skills in Demand sponsorships, and coordinating Mintrac assessments and assessor capability.
- Ensure proactive workforce planning, continuity, and compliance through clear communication of workforce needs, Labour Market Testing requirements, approvals, mobilisations, and cap management.
- Partner with Finance to ensure PALM accommodation, FBT, vehicle use, deductions, and data governance remain compliant while optimising asset utilisation and ROI.
- Support leadership and capability development by embedding accountability for engagement, performance, retention, and the development of sustainable talent pipelines.
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership and support to the site‑based Talent Acquisition and PALM Engagement team
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources or a related field
- 3–5 years’ experience in Talent Acquisition & HR roles, preferably in agricultural, feedlot, or manufacturing settings
- Proficient in contemporary HRIS (we use Success Factors & SAP 4 Hanna)
- Strong understanding of employment law
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to influence, engage, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
