About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and hands-on Senior Food Technologist to join our Value-Add team in Melbourne (Laverton site) and play a key role in developing innovative, market-ready food products from concept through to commercialisation. Reporting to the R&D Product Manager, you will be the technical expert responsible for translating innovation concepts into commercially successful products. You will lead product formulation, testing, process optimisation and scale-up activities while ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards throughout the development lifecycle

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise product formulations, prototypes and samples to meet customer and business requirements.
• Lead product testing, sensory evaluations and technical assessments to ensure product quality, safety and performance.
• Manage product scale-up activities from benchtop development through pilot trials to full commercial production.
• Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with relevant food regulations, specifications and quality systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to troubleshoot issues, source ingredients and deliver successful product outcomes.

About You

• A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in product development, R&D or food manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of food manufacturing processes, quality systems and regulatory requirements, including FSANZ.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and organisational skills.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across technical, operational and commercial teams.
